Exotic animal species that grazed the hillsides around the castle included: Bactrian (two-humped) and dromedary (one-humped) camels, deer from India, red deer from Europe, axis deer from Asia, llamas, kangaroos, ostriches, emus, Barbary sheep, Alaskan big horned sheep, musk oxen, yaks, African Antelope, giraffes and Zebras. In 1937 Hearst had to curtail construction activities at the ranch and was forced to dismantle the zoo because of financial difficulties. Most of the animals were donated to public zoos or sold by 1953. Today, zebras can be seen grazing along Highway 1 between Cambria and the town of San Simeon.

http://www.seekersglass.com/mainframe.htm

Team Yahoo

Team Yahoo in Training

New To Gallery

Pro cycling teams take advantage of the ideal weather conditons the central coast provides year round. In 1914, the house was sold to Eugenio Bianchini, a Swiss immigrant who came to this country in 1878. After farming, mining, dairying, and running butchery, he retired to this home. The property was unoccupied for many years; the Cambria Historical Society purchased the house through donations from the community. After years of dedication and countless hours from volunteers remodeling the property is was reopened in 2009 to the public as a museum, preserving Cambria's heritage.

http://www.seekersglass.com/

http://www.seekersglass.com/mainframe.htm

Art and Wine Festival in Cambria

Moonstone Beach, Cambria from Seekers Art Glass Gallery

This picture was taken close to where the other one was last week. There are always big laughs and lots of fun.
Join us and stop by east vilage and walk thru the old part of Cambria. Seekers Glass Gallery is located at the corner of Center Street and Burton Drive.
