Cambria Sunsets, Art in the Sky

Buzz Blodgett Sunset  and Midnight vases at Seekers Glass Gallery
For a short time this week, we returned to our normal 68 degrees and sunny skies. The mornings are cool and clear with the sounds of sea lions at the beach and cattle in the fields behind the town. Then at night we have some of the most beautiful sunsets anywhere, from my backyard last night.
Have a great Weekend!

Bianchini House in Cambria Historic East Village

Bianchini House Museum, from Seekers Art Glass Gallery
See Bernard Katz Tree Vases and Bowls

The Historic Bianchini House was built by Samuel Guthrie in 1882. In 1914, the house was sold to Eugenio Bianchini, a Swiss immigrant who came to this country in 1878. After farming, mining, dairying, and running butchery, he retired to this home. The property was unoccupied for many years; the Cambria Historical Society purchased the house through donations from the community. After years of dedication and countless hours from volunteers remodeling the property is was reopened in 2009 to the public as a museum, preserving Cambria's heritage.

Art and Wine Festival in Cambria

This picture was taken close to where the other one was  last week. You can see how far out the waves were cresting.

In small towns across America, festivals, parades and chili cooks off are held. Cambria is no different. This weekend is our Arts and Wine Festival. Local artist and wineries have exhibits and tasting. There are silent auctions at the community Veterans hall and a great Barbeque put on by the Sons of The American Legions. There are always big laughs and lots of fun.
Join us and stop by east vilage and walk thru the old part of Cambria. Seekers Glass Gallery is located at the corner of Center Street and Burton Drive. Across the street from the historic Bianchini House and Robins Resturant.
